SMI Housing Division sends two to Panhandle

Durham, NC -- (SBWIRE) -- 05/26/2010 -- Keith MacDonald, a construction coordinator for SMI Housing of Durham, NC is being released on emergency loan status to assist in supervising clean-up efforts along Florida's Gulf Coast. He will attend BP's Shoreline Training Module in Ft. Lauderdale before traveling to Tampa to fast track HAZWOPER 40-hour certification. Karen Gonzales, on loan from her duties with Ports Directory, will be obtaining the 24-hr. oil spill clean-up certificate and will be assisting from a Panama City Beach control center (to be determined) in leading a group of regional subcontractors to the Gulf of Mexico region of Florida's panhandle to assist in the clean up.
